Cookies and privacy
Here we set out what personal information is collected when you visit Chicken Road Freeplay, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We follow UK data protection law, meaning the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The site has no logins, comment boxes, contact forms or newsletters, so very little is collected in the first place.
Who we are
The site is run by a small independent editorial team, reachable through the contact details on the writer's page. We reply to privacy requests within one month.
What the servers record
Our pages are served by a content delivery network, which keeps short technical logs of each request: IP address, time, the page asked for, browser type and response code. We need these to keep the site running and to spot attacks, which is our legitimate interest under the UK GDPR. They are deleted automatically after a short time.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which buttons people press. It relies on cookies or similar identifiers and processes device details, pages viewed and a shortened IP address. The service comes from Google Ireland Limited, and some data may travel to the United States under the UK-US data bridge. Blocking cookies in your browser switches it off without affecting the content.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google and passes on your IP address when a page opens. The fonts only control how the text looks.
The free play demo
The Chicken Road demo is not loaded until you press its button. After that, your browser talks to InOut Games' servers, which may process your IP address and device details under their own policies. If you never press the button, nothing is sent to them.
Partner links
The ‘Play for real’ buttons go through a short redirect page to a partner casino, which records that you arrived from us so any commission can be credited. Its own privacy notice applies once you are there.
Cookies in short
The pages need no cookies to work. Cookies only appear through Google Analytics and, if you start it, the demo. You can delete or block them in your browser settings at any time.
Why we process data
There are only three purposes: delivering the pages safely, understanding which parts of the guide people use, and loading the demo when you ask for it. The first two rest on our legitimate interests; the third happens only because you pressed the button.
Data that leaves the UK
Our delivery network, Google Analytics and Google Fonts run servers in several countries, so some data may be handled outside the UK. We only use providers that offer recognised safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict how it is used, object to processing based on legitimate interests and receive a portable copy. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Contacting us about your data
Use the contact details on the writer's page and tell us briefly what you need. We may have to confirm that a request really comes from you before releasing any information. Requests are free of charge and are handled in the order they arrive.
Keeping it secure
All pages use encrypted HTTPS connections. We never ask for card details, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
Children and updates
This site is for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. When the services we use change, we revise this page and update the date at the bottom.
